Bismillah alhamdulillah
The world has been watching a live stream genocide for many months. we have been witnessing the Hospitals in Gaza have been bombed. News agencies have been attacked.
Children, patients, doctors, and journalists have been killed. Ambulances, dialysis centers, and maternity wards have been deliberately destroyed.
Then to expand the war and arrogance they attacked another country breaking all the international laws. When that country responded to defend its nation and retaliate by targeting the Zionist state and its cities, those who supported the displacement of Gaza’s population are suddenly asking for sympathy.
When the buildings become rubble and the criminals can’t find nowhere to hide or go, those merciless ppl are now begging for mercy from the world.
For months, the world has been watching a genocide unfold in real-time — streamed live, day after day. Yet now, people from the very nation that has repeatedly violated international law, committed war crimes, and shown disregard for basic human rights, expect empathy and support.
But the world is starting to say: "You get what you give."
kama tadeenu tudan..
Today’s khutbah is about a principle that is deeply embedded in our deen — a principle of divine justice and accountability. It is the reality that:
"You get what you give."
If you do good, good will come back to you; and if you do wrong, it will return to you as well.
"You get what you give."
This is not a motivational slogan, but a spiritual truth revealed by humanity.
Allah ﷻ says in Surah Az-Zalzalah (99:7–8):
“So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it,
And whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.”
Every action you do — whether hidden or open, big or small — will come back to you. Allah is never unaware.
Allah SWT is fully aware of what you do- Wa Allahu khabeerum bima taamaloon..
We must understand that our good deeds are investments for our own akhirah — our own eternity. And our sins are like poison — they harm our own soul. Perhaps in this life and of course in the hereafter.
The Prophet ﷺ emphasized this balance in many ahadith. In Sahih Muslim, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
"Whoever relieves a believer’s distress, Allah will relieve his distress on the Day of Judgment."
If anyone relieves a Muslim believer from one of the hardships of this worldly life, Allah will relieve him of one of the hardships of the Day of Resurrection.
Likewise, If anyone makes it easy for the one who is indebted to him (while finding it difficult to repay), Allah will make it easy for him in this worldly life and in the Hereafter,
and if anyone conceals the faults of a Muslim, Allah SWT will conceal his faults in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah-o-Akbar!
And the hadith continues... Allah helps His slave as long as he helps his brother.
This is a direct promise B/S— give relief, and you will receive relief. Treat people well, and you will be treated well by Ar-Rahman.
In Surah Mujadala 58:11 Allah says:
O you who have believed, when you are told, "Space yourselves" in assemblies, then make space; Allah will make space for you. And when you are told, "Arise," then arise; Allah will raise those who have believed among you and those who were given knowledge, by degrees. And Allah is Acquainted with what you do.
Let us reflect on another hadith.
He who does not show mercy will not be shown mercy.
"Be merciful to those on the earth, and the One above the heavens will show mercy to you."
(Sunan At-Tirmidhi 2023)
How you treat others is how you will be treated.
This is not karma. This is the justice of Al-‘Adl —Allah is the One who is Most Just. One of the beautiful names and attributes of Allah SWT is al-Adl.
Let me close this with these take away - O Muslims, reflect deeply: on these points.
Are you kind to your family and those under you? Then expect kindness from Allah.
Do you give in charity? Then expect provision from the One who owns all provision.
Do you conceal others’ faults? Then expect Allah to conceal yours.
"Whoever does righteousness — it is for his own soul; and whoever does evil — it is against it."
Then to your Lord you will be returned (Surah Al-Jathiyah 45:15)
Let us return to Allah with clean hearts and sincere deeds and give only what we wish to receive from our Lord.
May Allah SWT give us the Taufeeq. And the correct understanding… Ameen Ya Rabb
