Allah says,
[وَإِذَا السَّمَآءُ
كُشِطَتْ ]
(And when the heaven is Kushitat;) Mujahid said, "It drawns away.'' As-Suddi
said, "Stripped off.'' Concerning Allah's statement,
[وَإِذَا الْجَحِيمُ
سُعِّرَتْ ]
(And when Hell is Su`irat.) As-Suddi said, "It is heated.'' In reference to
Allah's statement,
[وَإِذَا الْجَنَّةُ
أُزْلِفَتْ ]
(And when Paradise is brought near.) Ad-Dahhak, Abu Malik, Qatadah, and
Ar-Rabi` bin Khuthaym, all said, "This means it will be brought near to its
inhabitants.''
