1 Perished are Aboo Lahab’s wishes and ruined is he.
2 Neither did his wealth avail him nor did his works.
3 Soon shall he be in a flaming fire;
4 as shall be his wife – the bearer of fuel.
5 Upon her neck shall be a halter of strongly twisted palm-fibre.
